Linamia’s Thanks for the Memories SH, RA, WCX (Jake)

Jake excels in the field. He has run in 3 MH tests in 2010 and has 3 qualifying scores, handled by his wonderful trainer, Larry Sonntag! We have twice found ourselves in the enviable position of going into the last memory bird without a handle or long hunt. He got his JH in four straight tests with mostly 10s and compliments from judges and spectators. He also earned his SH on 8/31/08 in four straight tests. He retains what he learns very well, is a good marker and has a great desire to please. His early problem with steadiness has disappeared under Larry’s training. His training in 2009 was marred by an inner ear infection that threw him off balance both physically and mentally and really seemed to affect his marking. Now back to normal, he has returned to his pre-infection form. Jake was started in his field work by his co-owner Sue Kiefer and is now being trained by Larry Sonntag of Salty Dog Farms who also put his SH title on him. I handled him to the JH, the WCX, and his Rally titles, which he attained with two first places, a second, a third, and a fourth (when he sat during the stand and had to repeat the exercise).

Jake earned his first conformation point January 31, 2009 with a Best of Breed at the Packerland KC show in Green Bay and got another point at Kettle Moraine in June 2009. He has not been shown much during the last year because of involvement in field work and my policy of not going to shows when I have a litter at home. He has had multiple reserves and wins in the Bred By class, as well as specialty placements. Now that he has some Master passes, I will get him shown more widely.
